Information on the security incident at VIPS PMS

We are providing information about a security incident involving VIPS PMS, the software provider whose system we use to manage our hotel reservations.
The ongoing investigation has established that unauthorised parties gained access to part of the VIPS environment. This may also have involved access to personal data and reservation information relating to guests of Sauerland Alpin Hotel.
At this time, it is not yet possible to determine with certainty which individual guests have been affected or which data was actually accessed.
What data may be involved?
The data concerned may include personal information you provided to us in connection with a reservation, such as:
- Name
- Contact details
- Address details
- Reservation information
Based on the information currently provided to us by VIPS PMS, we are not yet able to determine more specifically which data relating to individual guests may have been accessed.
What measures have been taken?
VIPS PMS has terminated the unauthorised access and implemented additional security measures.
A comprehensive forensic investigation into the cause, scope and impact of the incident is also underway. VIPS PMS has engaged an independent cybersecurity specialist to assist with this investigation.
What can you do?
We recommend that you remain particularly vigilant in the coming period for unexpected emails, phone calls, WhatsApp messages or other messages asking you to provide your personal information.
Please exercise caution when opening links or attachments from senders you do not trust, and do not provide personal information if you are unsure about the identity of the sender.
Latest information
The investigation by VIPS PMS is still ongoing. If new relevant information becomes available that is important to our guests, we will update this information where necessary.
